They were about to start a new journey which would get them everything. Emperor Conrad of Germany was the leader of this eager group. He lead the group a long side King Louis VII of France. They had a strong group of German and French knights all who were well-armed and had an eager desire to take back 'their' land that the Turks had 'stolen'.
On the they took on Damascus but did not sucseed. The people Damascus defeated them strongly. Eventually the Crusade was completly amandoned. All in shame as the Turks held their stand in the Holy Land. Even worse for the Crusaders, by 1187 Jerusalem was recaptured by the Turks.

The Third Crusade
"Here we go again"
The Third Crusade. This Crusade was launched in 1189. By Now the Christians were embarrassed, defeated and were ready to take the challenge for the fourth time. At the moment: The Holy Land: Muslim Turks Jerusalem: Muslim Turks. Once again the Christian Crusaders were well-armed and trained but even with good men, they had not succeeded yet. On top of this group was Richard I, king of England (sometimes known as the 'Lionheart'), Phillip of France and from Germany Emperor Fredrick. The Muslim Turks were now known as the 'Saracens' and were led by a soldier named 'Saladin'.
Destruction was not the main aspect any more. The Sarcarens with Saladin still had hold of Jerusalem. The Christians really wanted it back. While crossing a river Fredrick drowned. The leaders left, captured a town near Jerusalem called Acre but were arguing so Phillip marched back home.
A draw encountered them this time. Richard and Saladin made peace, Christians could visit The Holy Land freely, while the Saracens looked over it.
